WITH MAGNETIC FIELDS DISRUPTED

(c) 1972, Ann Arbor Publishers

~ Complete with fully notated score, artwork, photographs, and linear notes ~

Shortly after recording their WITH MAGNETIC FIELDS DISRUPTED, Gertrude Kurath, a music historian and modern dancer,
contacted Roger. Together they published this illustrated manuscript in 1972.  Drawings by Roger Miller and Arnold Lelis.

In the fall of 1970, a music historiasn (and modern dancer) woman named Gertrude Kurath was writing a book (on an anthropology grant!) concerning the sound of rock music.  A friend recommended she talk to Roger, and Roger loaned her the Sproton Layer recording as an example of modern rock techniques.  The women, who was in her 60's, was overwhelmed by With Magnetic Fields Disrupted, and decided that her book on rock music should be handed over to the main songwriter in Sproton Layer.  The book now was to be all the songs on With Magnetic Fields Disrupted written out in full score form,
with an introduction to each song and a few drawings by Roger.  Roger meticulously listened to the tape and wrote out
every drum beat, bass line, guitar chord, and trumpet/vocal melody in score form.  The book was then published
by Ann Arbor Publishers in 1972, and has long been out of print.  No royalties were paid.
